Welcome to the West Asia Division of VATSIM, created in June of 2012.
West Asia Division falls under VATSIM Asia Region, which in turn is one of 6 existing regions within VATSIM. The main purpose of our Division is to bring together and capitalize on limited resources within the underlying vACC’s and thereby organize and coordinate all virtual air traffic control centers within our participating countries and to monitor and manage membership issues as well as ATC and Pilot Training across the Division to ensure that the service provided across the Division is as seamless and similar as possible.
We sincerely hope that you will find all the information and links that you need on this site, either as a Virtual ATCo or as a Virtual Pilot, be it as a beginner, trainee or advanced member. We will do our utmost to offer a comprehensive service to all members and will be grateful for all feedback received and indeed for any assistance given to grow the presence of virtual Traffic and virtual ATC within our area.
We provide all the necessary training you need, so that you can become a competent virtual air traffic controller using ASRC, VRC or Euroscope.
One of our biggest challenges is undoubtedly going to be the ability to bring together people with different skills, nationalities, background and motivation, and make them all feel part of a larger community rather than focusing on one country or area of interest only and for us all to enjoy this wonderful hobby together. Yes, we will aim for as “real as it gets” but let us never lose sight of the fact this is a hobby and the aim is for all to enjoy this hobby and have a good and fun time either Flying or Controlling.
